About College

C.H. Muhammad Koya Memorial (C.H.M.K.M) Govt. Arts & Science College Tanur was established in 2013 as a part of establishing new Arts & Science Colleges in Assembly constituencies where there is no Govt. or Aided college. The College is affiliated to the University of Calicut. Now the college is temporarily located at Puthentheru, about 2 km away from Tanur town.  It offers UG courses such as B.A English, B.Com, BBA, BCA, and B.Sc Electronics. The college has been an entrance to the world of higher education for the public, especially for the people from coastal area. The college was also the fulfilment of the long-cherished dream of the people in and around Tanur constituency. The relentless efforts of Sri. Abdul Rahman Randathani,  the then HonorbleMLA of Tanur, made the dream of thousands of people living in the costal outskirts of Malappuram district into reality. The College was inaugurated on 1st August 2013 by the then Chief Minister of Kerala Sri.Oommen Chandy.

The initiative and dynamic leadership of the people like Honorable MLA  Shri. V Abdurahiman  and other well wishers, irrespective of their politics and religion, that the college came into being. The region is blessed with the cultural and religious harmony among the people that works out as an inspirational source for the students. The college continues its assiduous journey having the great pleasure that two batches have passed out with a remarkable result into its credit.
